Website Navigation Redesign
Objective:
The primary goal of this project was to enhance user experience by redesigning and optimizing the website navigation. Aiming to create a more intuitive, engaging, and personalized experience, we undertook a comprehensive analysis and redesign of the current navigation system.
Challenges:
- Complex Structure: The original site had 7 mega dropdowns, which made the navigation process cumbersome for users. Especially those on a smaller screen.
- User Feedback: Users reported difficulties in finding specific information and understanding site hierarchy.
Process & Approach:
- Research: Conducted user surveys and analyzed website analytics to understand how visitors interact with the current navigation.
- Information Architecture: Reorganized and categorized content into logical groupings, ensuring a more streamlined flow.
- Prototyping: Created interactive prototypes in Figma to visualize the new navigation structure and gather feedback.
- Testing: Conducted usability testing sessions to assess the effectiveness and clarity of the new design.
- Implementation: Worked closely with developers to ensure the design was implemented accurately and efficiently.
Tools Used:
Figma, Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Google Analytics, Hotjar, Lambda Test
Outcome:
- A decrease in bounce rate.
- An increase in average session duration.
- More users accessing key sections/pages of the site.
- Positive feedback from users, highlighting ease of use and clear structure.
